& CRAFTS
Guerilla Installation on the facade of the San Francisco campus of California College of the Arts (April 3-10, 2005)
Hand Knit Yarn, Plexiglass
1.5 ft x 6 ft

A material, site-specific response to California College of Arts and Crafts dropping the work “Crafts” from the name of the school in 2004. During this
time, multiple museums and schools across the United States erased the word “crafts” from their titles citing the stigma of the word and its association with intersecting marginalized populations.

In 2015, Oakland Museum of California acquired the installation, archival materials, documentation, and an oral history of & CRAFTS.
